Alexander Iashvili ((グルジア語:ალექსანდრე მამულის ძე იაშვილი); born 23 October 1977 in Tbilisi) is a retired Georgian football striker.
==Career==
He started his career in Dinamo Tbilisi, where he was a great goalscorer. With 24 goals in 24 games (1994–95) and 26 goals in 25 games (1995–96) he attracted interest from foreign clubs, and decided to join VfB Lübeck in January 1997. After his loan spell ended, he once again moved to play in Germany, this time for SC Freiburg. The team earned promotion to the Bundesliga the first season, and since 1998 has contributed with 30 goals in 148 Bundesliga games. For the 2005–06 season he was promoted to team captain. He was released in 2007, after ten years with the club, and subsequently joined Karlsruher SC.
